History of the Firm

Culley, Marks, Tanenbaum & Pezzulo, LLP was formed in 1968 as the result of the merger of Culley, Corbett, Tanenbaum & Reifsteck, founded in 1916 and Coyle, Marks & Jordan.

The firm has grown to its present size in a planned and controlled manner, priding itself on giving prompt, thorough and exceptional service to its many clients in the insurance, corporate, municipal, business and banking communities. Attorneys, paralegals, administrative and support personnel work together to meet the needs of our clients, always our foremost concern.

Conscious of the need to stay abreast of the ever evolving nature of the law, the firm maintains a strong program of continuing legal education. In addition to in-house seminars, partners, associates and paralegals of the firm not only participate, but play leadership roles in the educational activities of professional associations on the national, state and local levels.

The firm's practice offers a full range of legal services in the fields of litigation, estate planning and administration, real estate and business planning, corporate, banking and business law, bankruptcy, labor and employee relations, matrimonial, municipal and criminal law. The firm serves as general counsel to a wide variety of business enterprises.

The firm's litigation experience at the trial and appellate level is extensive in both state and federal courts. It also includes all aspects of insurance litigation and subrogation.

It is understood that individuals in all walks of life and engaged in varied endeavors require estate planning and wills to carry out their wishes and responsibilities. Consequently, since initial inception, the firm has established and maintains a fully staffed department to fulfill this area of practice.

Recognizing the desire of clients to hold legal costs to a reasonable level, it is the firm's practice to encourage the participation of associates in the handling of cases to help reduce the cost to our clients. Combined with the active involvement of and supervision by the partners of the firm, clients receive quality representation while legal fees are maintained at reasonable levels.
